1) what is the difference between Ruby and Php? ( I know that Ruby doesn't hurt - are there two parts? ruby, and raild?

as far as i know ruby on rails is framework for making websites with ruby language. php is cool, and will always be cool, but ruby is powerful as it has some great options you can use couse it's combination of smalltalk, lisp, perl and some other languages

Try cakePHP, it is like php's version of rails... great stuff
