Asp.net Importance?

What do you think in the present age, Asp.net is Loosing its importance? As it is not free. That is there is a need of license to use it. (when you compared with php web technology)

asp.net has very good future. the biggest thing is its a product of Microsoft and microsoft always make their products very easy to use. so little money spending is not bad

Let me correct you.
Asp.Net is free, .net framework and its compiler are free and Visual Studio Express edition is free as well. You only have to pay for professional versions of visual studio.
You do not need visual studio to write asp.net or c#, it's just an IDE.
You can write your program in notepad and compile with .net compiler if you wish.

ASP.Net has a very bright future ASP.Net web Applications provides high level security and very easy interaction to users. its true that you need to spend money on ASP.Net Development for license acquire but fir you want a quality and security work you will have to pay and Microsoft always works on quality.

Yes, the framework and some of the tools are free, but if you comapre hosting .net apps vs open source apps, you will notice that they aren't affordable for personal use or very small business

Regardless of what trends you see, if you pay a few dollars a month, you can have unlimited web sites/applications, as well as MS SQL Server support.

Nothing is free...

Many major hosts charge the same thing for Windows hosting--yes, with SQL Server support (though there's no reason you can't use MySQL with ASP.NET)--as they charge for Linux hosting.

GoDaddy, for example, charges $5 a month (or less) for either. You only get a single 200MB SQL Server DB at that price but you can opt for up to 10 1GB MySQL DB's instead/in addition.

So, yes, if you really needed huge SQL Server DBs it would be more expensive. But why not just use MySQL with ASP.NET???

ASP.NET reduces the amount of code required to build large applications.However the problem with it is cross browser support. The applications developed in ASP.NET works with Internet Explorer but not with others. Since it is designed for Windows platform, it doesn't work on Linux platform.
