I have swf movies that play on my webpages that are anywhere from 15MB to 30MB. I'd like to know what the ratio of MB to minutes of playback time "should" be. Is it different for every piece of software that can produce swf files??

I'm trying to nail a problem on my front-end site whereby these short videos take more than 2 minutes to load when they are NOT already cached by the browser. The load time is painfully slow on these pages, for some reason that I can't figure out.

Again, the issue is with first-time visits. Otherwise, they load in a flash, as I think I would expect them too.

Loaded in 3-4 seconds for me.

the loading time depend on the slowest conection between your site and the visitor. For example for me this is probably somewhere between 14K/s and 32K/s between you and me,
That means that after 4-5 minutes of waiting was loaded, cached a chunk only, then when i start to watch, output from cache and continue to load, get the rest piece by piece. Autostart playing make things worst usualy.

everyone else I've talked to says the same thing, John.

It simply might be either a bandwidth issue or connection issue with my ISP's or the CEO's ISP's. I don't know.
